Job Description Employer: University of Auckland

The School of Pharmacy, The University of Auckland, seeks to appoint a Quality Systems Manager to support the new Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) compliant analytical laboratory being established. This position is supported by a grant from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). The start date for this position is negotiable, but not later than September 2006.

The vacancy would suit candidates with Bachelor/Master¡¯s or equivalent in Biomedical, Chemistry or Pharmacy with at least 2 years experience of working in a pharmaceutical industry environment. Experience in use of equipment such as HPLC and good understanding of regulatory processes involved in GLP is essential. Previous experience in establishing documentation in an analytical laboratory would be an advantage.

Other duties will include the overall management of the laboratoy, procurement of instruments, liaison with sponsors, management of projects, supervision of laboratory technician, helping with monitoring of research budgets, and preparation of reports.

This position would suit someone who is well organised and able to multi-task, self-motivated, industrious and has initiative. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, good people-skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
