The University owns and leases a portfolio of properties across eight faculties, six campuses, research stations and reserves. These sites cover 190 hectares and over 130 buildings. The role of Property Services is to provide a leading edge planning, development and facilities management service that contributes to the success of The University of Auckland as a vibrant and progressive university. As such, the Division has a very significant annual operating budget and one of the largest capital works programmes in the country.
Reporting to the Director, Property Services, the Planning and Development Manager will be responsible for strategic planning in regard to the development of its campuses and properties to ensure that the built environment supports both the current and future needs of the University. He/she will be tasked with ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of planning and project management services and implementation of the University¡¯s capital works programme for buildings and campus infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified or professionally accredited with expertise gained in the construction, engineering or related industries, combined with strong planning and financial analysis capability. He/she will be aligned to Property Services¡¯ commitment to making a strategic, forward thinking and customer focused contribution to the development of the campuses.
