Job Description Employer : Bruce Wallace Partners Ltd

Bruce Wallace Partners is a specialist civil/environmental structural and survey practice; however their project capability is multidisciplinary. They have an outstanding reputation and a proven track record serving local government, industrial, and commercial clients, such that, the majority of their work is repeat business from happy customers. They also provide specialist consultancy services to other engineering firms on their projects. They have a current staff of 20 at their Newmarket office but to cope with the increasing workload, they need to grow their Civil/Environmental division with the addition of at least two engineers.

Civil/Environmental Engineer

This is an ideal opportunity for an intermediate Civil Engineer, with a strong interest in environmental engineering, to diversify and gain a wide range of skills and knowledge whilst working towards your Chartered Engineer status. As well as land development, civil structures and roading you will have the opportunity to help design state of the art municipal wastewater treatment plants, water supply and stormwater services. Working alongside specialists, in a team working culture, you will ¡°grow¡± rapidly and start taking control of your own projects – everything from taking the customer brief through to delivery. Some projects are large and politically sensitive so you will have the opportunity to become involved in the public consultation/resource consents process as well. The senior management here are all hands-on engineers, so they will always help you, and support your development.

The staff turnover rate here is so low, this is indeed a very rare opportunity for someone to maximise their professional capabilities and still work for a small, friendly firm.

Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer

If you are already a Chartered Engineer with 5 plus years relevant project experience, then your career isn¡¯t over yet! As the company grows, it needs to create more teams and, as there is existing specialist design capability within the team, they now need a Project Manager/Team Leader to complete the picture. Previous design experience is always desirable but the focus, for you, will be delivering those quality projects. Take this opportunity to shape future cities. If you are capable and ambitious then a shareholding position in the future is not out of the question. This firm is well established, has a very healthy forward workload with some very loyal customers and is very much ¡°on the up¡±. This is a rare chance to put yourself on the path that will see you reach the very top of your profession.

Both of these roles will need someone who is dynamic, an agile communicator, thirsty for knowledge and be dedicated to working in a team environment. You should be the kind of person who is always pushing back the boundaries of possibility and who makes the most of learning opportunities. Salary will be industry competitive and negotiable, depending on relevant skills/experience.
