Job Description Employer: Lincoln University

Due to a recent retirement, the Environment, Society and Design Division seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Environmental Management in its Environmental Management Group. The Environmental Management Group teaches a number of qualifications, including the Bachelor of Environmental Management. The Group is also responsible for teaching and supervising students in the Bachelor of Commerce (Transport and Logistics), Postgraduate Diploma in Resource Studies, Master of Resource Studies, Master of Environmental Policy, Master of Applied Science (Environmental Management), Master of Professional Studies (with emphases on Environmental Management or Transport and Logistics) and Doctor of Philosophy. A number of these degree programmes, including the Bachelor of Environmental Management, are accredited by the New Zealand Planning Institute.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching on the undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as working with a well-respected environmental management team on research projects and outputs. The principal focus of the position will be on resource management and environmental law, particularly as it pertains to planning and environmental management in New Zealand. To this end the candidate will have primary responsibility for the delivery of the postgraduate subject LWST602 - Resource Management Law. To be considered for this position, you will have either a New Zealand law degree or a planning/policy degree with local government and resource management law components. You will also have some years of practical experience either in the local government sector or in the resource management planning area, with a working knowledge of the case law in this area. Teaching experience at a tertiary level is highly desirable.
