The Siemens Energy Services (SES) division of Siemens (NZ) Ltd delivers Maintenance, Emergency Response and Construction Services to New Zealand¡¯s leading electrical and gas distribution network utility owners. The Reactive Services or Emergency Response Department requires an experienced manager for the Northern region.
Based at the Albany depot, this role will include budget responsibilities for the delivery of these essential services as per the contractual agreements with our customers.
Strategic management of the Rapid Response Teams and the National Dispatch Centre will be required, as will preparation of shift and stand-by rosters for department staff. Maintenance, improvement and development of existing and new customer relationships will be necessary, along with the establishment and changes to contractual agreements. This role also involves the implementation of new Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE) initiatives.
The successful applicant must offer understanding of QSE standards and legal obligations. A faults background in electrical, gas or telecommunication networks is highly desirable, as is a management qualification (MBA, finance degree or similar). A contractual understanding in order to drive contract discussions and/or negotiations with customers and unions is also important.
We seek an applicant with multi-cultural management experience who may well have worked in multiple divisions within a multi-national matrix organisation. Strong and proven communication and negotiation skills are required, as is computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. A mathematical and statistical understanding is also important. This person will need to lead by example and display a high level of commitment.
