Safer Families Violence Prevention Network
Women's Advocate
Community & Statutory partnerships
Working with Family Violence Issues
Based in Mairangi Bay & Takapuna
The Safer Families Foundation is a not for profit organisation that has a diverse range of services pertaining to victims of family violence.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Women's Advocate that will focus on "big picture" issues that impact on victims of family violence and their safety and will work directly with high risk and complex needs of clients.
The ideal applicant will have the following desired skills and attributes:
*Excellent communication skills
*The ability to present information clearly
*Tertiary Education in any of the following subjects (Health, Legal, Social Work, Teaching)
*Ability to relate to a wide range of people and cultural groups
*Knowledge of feminist models and family violence issues
*Commitment to working with women and children in a respectful manner
*Diligence and Hardworking
*The ability to be flexible and practical
*Sense of humour
*Patience
*Personable, Outgoing personality
*Accepting and non judgemental
*Capable - likes problem solving
*Self directed whilst remaining within a team environment.
This position is an important part of our services and requires someone who is committed to supporting and upholding the values and standards of our organisation.
It is a requirement that the ideal candidate will work autonomously within the structure of the North Shore Police - Family Violence Team.
Structuring of this position requires the candidate commutes between an office in Mairangi Bay & Takapuna during their working day.
This is a full time position.
