Our client is an industry leader in the manufacture and supply of electronic components and products. An exciting opportunity has become available for an intermediate Purchasing Officer in their materials team based in Christchurch.
You will be a key member in this close-knit team who are focussed on all areas of procurement, inventory management and logistics. Your prime objective will be to efficiently procure and control the inventory of both raw materials and finished goods by actively sourcing new raw materials, products and services, ensuring the timely delivery of products to customers. You will also assist in the sound management of inventory levels and stock obsolescence for maximum productivity.
Ideally you will have the relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 3 years work experience, preferably in the electronics field. However the essential element is previous experience using a computerised inventory management system and having worked in a purchasing role in a demanding manufacturing environment. You will have a working knowledge of ISO and general policies, practices and procedures within a purchasing role. Your strong communication skills, level headed systematic approach and negotiation skills will ensure the door opens for you to this amazing career opportunity
