Commercial Road Transport Unit (CRT)

Land Transport New Zealand is a government agency that is charged with contributing to an integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system.

The Commercial Road Transport Unit (CRT) is looking to appoint a motivated, professional and self directed analyst to fill this newly created position in our National Office. Working as part of a highly skilled team, the National Intelligence Analyst is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of intelligence systems to support the planning and decision making for the CRT Unit as they relate to specific user groups of the land transport system.

The National Intelligence Analyst will take a leading role in developing tactical plans for the CRT Unit and contribute to attaining Land Transport NZ¡¯s strategic objectives. The role requires the collation of information from various land transport related sources, identifying and analysing emerging regional and national trends, which impact on land transport users (with a specific emphasis on commercial road transport operations) and disseminate intelligence to end users.

The successful applicant will have:

intelligence system development experience in a large or complex organisation

proven strong planning skills

advanced level of computer literacy, specifically in the areas of database applications and using data mining techniques within a data warehouse environment

experience in working with detailed performance indicators

highly developed ability to research and critically analyse complex information and make effective decisions

experience in transport systems and/or a background in a regulatory environment

strong interpersonal and communication skills

although not essential a sound knowledge and experience with government processes, analysis, report writing and project management is preferred.
