Position No: 06-1555
Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Mental Health Service (HKMHS) is changing and growing. New facilities are being commissioned including a purpose built Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) opening in September 2006. The PECC will provide services for people presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) with mental health problems. Services will include crisis stabilisation and up to 48 hours extended observation and care.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed registered and enrolled nurses to come and work in this new PECC. These positions will provide an exciting opportunity to manage people with an acute mental illness whilst working closely with the ED, as well as further developing your acute mental health nursing skills. You will join our nursing team and may be required to support other teams within HKMHS.
Successful applicants will meet the following essential criteria:
registered or enrolled to practice in NSW
demonstrable recent experience in mental health assessment, management and treatment intervention
superior written and verbal communication skills
proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
demonstrated commitment to consumer participation
computer literacy
Salary Range:
Registered Nurse: $843.90-$1185.20 pw, $22.21-$31.19 ph
Enrolled Nurse: $744.20-$826.70 pw, $19.58-$21.75 ph
