Financial Controller - Property Industry - $120,000+
Our client is a small but dynamic team of property developers who operate throughout the country and overseas. While predominantly they are involved in large residential developments they also have a number of other joint venture operations within various other property sectors. The environment is very entrepreneurial and fast moving by nature so if this fits your desires please read on.
The emphasis is on Financial Accounting and working with the directors with regard to the financial position of the company. There are a large number of entities where compliance reporting is required along with reviewing information and providing management information to the directors. The role also has 4 direct reports who look after a lot of the processing type work. In practical terms the business has processes in place which will keep the compliance issues under control for some months, giving a new person time to grow into the role and the incumbent will also be available for advice and to pass on his knowledge during the initial stages.
Ideally you will have had experience in dealing with entrepreneurial business owners and have the personality to communicate with them effectively and forcefully when necessary. Property sector experience would be good, however this is not a prerequisite and we are certainly open to other forms of experience. Strong financial accounting and dealings with complex accounting structures is required to excel in this position. A qualified Chartered Accountant with good Tax knowledge would also be advantageous. The progression within the role is towards more general contributions at a senior level
