Rugby Club Manager
Sydenham is one of the largest and oldest rugby clubs in NZ and has a proud tradition of providing local young people with the opportunity to participate in sport within a supportive and exciting club environment that fosters strong family values.
The club fields up to 500 junior and 150 open grade players including women in rugby competitions every week and has contributed many players to Canterbury and National representative teams over the last few years.
To achieve the clubs vision of regularly competing for the key trophies on offer in Canterbury club rugby, Sydenham has identified the need for a full time Rugby Club Manager.
The Rugby Club Manager will lead and manage the commercial, sponsorship and administration requirements of the club and also ensure the development of rugby through player development, recruitment and retention strategies.
We are looking for someone with sound organisational or business experience preferably with a passion for rugby or experience in another sporting code that could be applied to our environment.
The successful candidate will need to be able to operate autonoumously and be able to communicate and get the trust and respect of a wide group of stakeholders, from volunteers to professional players and administrators within the rugby community.
