Canterbury Development Corporation is the economic and employment development arm of the Christchurch City Council. CDC provides quality services and products that meet the development needs of a range of clients, from businesses and investors to job seekers and employers, in order to promote sustainable economic growth and employment in the Canterbury region.
This newly created role offers you the chance to make your mark, if you have the desire and determination to succeed. Reporting to and working with the CEO, you will lead a highly skilled and competent team to ensure that CDC's goals are consistently achieved. You will also play a vital part in the development of long term strategic plans and corporate policies, taking on full responsibility for operational implementation and the alignment of activities, projects and programmes. This is an influential role requiring development of solid relationships with government ministers, local government, community, education and industry leaders, and international partners.
Your commercial savvy is critical to the success of this role, along with your strong understanding of the local economic and business scene. You will have proven, dynamic leadership skills that will be essential to create and promote a culture of teamwork and innovation and to ensure that individual potential and performance is maximised through challenge and development.
