Not so common opportunity
This small but established civil contractor is a well known specialist in the region in which they work. They undertake land development, earthmoving, drainage, general civil, enabling and associated ancillary works. Their company culture demonstrates a strong team environment with a shared vision of success for the future.
A position is currently available for a construction gun to join the team and assist with the senior management of the company. This is an ¡°all round¡± position and your responsibilities will see you play a part in most aspects of the companies operations. It will not be a role that you feel like you could do with your eyes closed. Also, it will not leave you so stressed out that you feel you are going to have a break down. It will challenge you, in the true sense of the word.
If you are looking for a career that interests you and motivates you to get out of bed in the morning, I¡¯m pleased to say my client¡¯s company provides just that!
To be considered for this role you will ideally have formal qualifications in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. You will have a proven background working on civil projects in New Zealand and good referees who say you are ¡°a real asset to have on the team¡±. A familiarity with the areas that this company specialises in will be a great advantage. If you don¡¯t have this experience I¡¯m afraid we will not consider you. Likewise, if you have no experience in New Zealand and therefore no knowledge of NZ standards and practices it is highly unlikely your background will be suitable.
You will be working for a good company at present but you will be tired of the management structure there and you will be bored with the lack of diversity in your current role. A new challenge is what you¡¯re looking for – one that you can commit to for the longer term - one that places you in a good position to take on senior management roles with companies of your choice in the future (when you inevitably decide to move again one day).
A good market rate will be offered to you. Although it won¡¯t be a ridiculous sum of money, I think you will find it to be quite competitive in the current market. It¡¯s fair to say it will most likely be more than you are on now.
