Employer:Waimakariri District Council
Technical Services Unit - Two Positions
• Asset Information Team Leader – GIS/CAD
• Asset Management Engineer
The Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing districts in the country with a corresponding expansion in infrastructure assets. The district comprises a mix of urban and rural communities and offers a dramatic landscape from the coastline across the Canterbury plains to the high country tussock land. The Council¡¯s main office is situated in Rangiora, approximately 20 minutes north of Christchurch.
Both of these positions are key full time roles in the Council¡¯s Technical Services Unit.
Asset Information Team Leader.
The person appointed will be responsible for leading a team providing GIS, CAD, Hansen IMS, GPS survey and administration assistance services. A fundamental understanding of GIS, CAD and databases is essential. The person appointed will also have the appropriate communication and leadership skills required for this position.
Asset Management Engineer.
The person appointed will be responsible for providing asset management services to improve the Council¡¯s management of its utilities. This includes implementation and review of activity management plans, condition assessment, performance analysis, asset valuations, risk assessments and a variety of projects. A broad understanding of engineering design, construction and asset management is essential for this role. Project management, communication and report writing skills are also prerequisites in this position.
