This will challenge you, absorb you and satisfy you every day! You will work on issues that effect the everyday lives of all New Zealanders.
You will work across SPARC and the sport and recreation sector, helping to identify research priorities, fill knowledge gaps, shape up new policies and programmes and build research capability. The research you direct and do will make a visible difference to what gets done in sport and recreation in New Zealand.
Success in this role will require a credible track record as a researcher, preferably with a social or market research orientation, and command of the usual range of research methods. You need to understand how research operates in an environment, with many interests, stakeholders and expectations. You must have experience in developing research contracts and managing their delivery by other research organisations. An understanding of how the sport and recreation sector works and its impact, from high-performance to community participation would be helpful. but not essential
