Head Librarian


Bible College of New Zealand (BCNZ) is a tertiary–level private training establishment offering certificates, diplomas, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Christian ministries and theology. NZQA accredited, BCNZ has a long tradition of teaching, training and mentoring men and women in pursuit of their life's calling.

Applications are invited for the following full-time position located at the Auckland Campus in Henderson, Auckland.

This key position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight in the delivery of library services to the BCNZ community at the Auckland, Manawatu and Christchurch Centres.

Key Responsibilities:
Management of library collections, serials and services
Planning and organisation of special collections/archives
Oversight of daily operations

Skills, Knowledge and Qualities:
Completed professional Library qualification
Tertiary library experience desirable
Experience with support technologies, such as Liberty3 Series module or similar software, and cataloguing experience using standard tools such as AACR2
Familiarity with modern library services
Effective planning and organisation skills
Some background in New Zealand church environments or familiarity with theological resources would be helpful
Experience in supervision and budget management
Strong Leadership and advocacy skills
