Team Leader, Claims Co-ordinators Kaitono Matua play a key role in the Waitangi Tribunal co-ordinate and motivate a busy team

The Waitangi Tribunal is a commission of inquiry established under its own statute, the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975. The Tribunal is supported by Waitangi Tribunal staff, who are employees of the Ministry of Justice. The Tribunal¡¯s staff undertake research into claims, facilitate claims in hearing, assist appointed Tribunals in writing their reports, and provide other services to the Tribunal. We are looking for professionals with a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi to join our dedicated Wellington based Registrarial team.
You¡¯ll play a key role in the Waitangi Tribunal as leader of the Claims Co-ordination Team. Your team are responsible for organising hearings and other inquiry events and providing administrative support to Tribunal members. Your challenge is to ensure quality customer services to claimants, Members, and other key parties involved in the claims process.
It¡¯s an active role – you¡¯ll enjoy co-ordinating and motivating a busy team and your calm nature will help when multi-tasking. You¡¯ll bring sound experience in team leadership, administration and/or events management to the table, and have budget management experience. Your eye for improving processes will also be put to good use.
