Applications are sought for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position in the studio-based programmes at the Elam School of Fine Arts (Elam). Elam is located within The University of Auckland¡¯s multi-disciplinary faculty, the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries (NICAI). The University of Auckland is New Zealand¡¯s leading research university – the nation¡¯s premier teaching and learning institution located in the heart of Auckland¡¯s most international city.
The Elam School of Fine Arts runs an exciting and innovative inter-disciplinary studio-based programme. A wide range of discipline interests are actively promoted within programmes that are designed to facilitate individual creative pathways and unique forms of artistic practice.
Interest is sought from applicants with experience in one or more of the following fields: painting, graphic and print-based media, photography. All applicants will have an enthusiasm for, and interest in, facilitating learning across a wide range of artistic practices.
The successful applicant will be an active practising artist with either an outstanding exhibition record of national/international standing or recognised potential to develop such a profile.
All applicants should have the ability to participate in and contribute to a rigorous and creative research culture. Previous experience within an academic environment involving undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research supervision is highly desirable.
