Our client already has adequate capabilities in the engineering tasks that they undertake. The crunch is the site commissioning and so they require someone who can install and commission their machines anywhere in the world. Whilst they realise that you will require support and assistance, their hope is that within 12 months you will be able to undertake the commissioning and installation work unaccompanied. In order to do this you will have strong trouble-shooting skills (mechanical and electrical issues) and you will be able to commission the software and PLC¡¯s required in order to get the plant running. To be successful in this role, you will need to have high levels of flexibility, very good people skills and the ability to adapt and work with people from various cultures.

Please note: This is an intermediate level role, and will not suit those with extensive senior level experience in similar sectors

You will also have a strong mechanical aptitude and a sound understanding and interest in ¡°what makes things tick¡±.

You will have:

An electrical qualification (preferable)

6 – 12 years experience preferably in the industrial, maintenance, marine or food sector

Excellent experience working with and programming PLC¡¯s (MUST HAVE!)

A strong mechanical aptitude

Familiarity of chemical/process engineering in order to understand how the machines work

Machinery maintenance experience (preferred)

Proven commissioning and installation experience

The ability to work under pressure

Excellent problem solving skills

Tried and tested trouble-shooting experience

The ability to work without supervision

An excellent attitude towards learning new things

Good written and spoken communication skills

This role will require extensive overseas travel, up to 18 weeks of any one year for periods of 3 to 5 weeks at a time. As a result, you must be available for international travel and you will need to be a citizen or resident of New Zealand.

Why this role?

Excellent salary, which will reflect your experience, skills and qualifications

Generous benefits

Extensive international travel

Invaluable exposure and experience in the worldwide engineering market

Opportunity to gain a lot of on-the-job learning

A long term role with a company that values their staff and invests in their development

This is an excellent opportunity for a commissioning and installation engineer to take the next step in their career and gain invaluable exposure to the international market!
