New Zealands leading coal exporter has an immediate vacancy for an experienced Mining Engineer to be based at their Stockton mine on the west coast of the south island. This is a challenging and career defining position with a remuneration package to match.
The purpose of this position is to maximise the economic value of the mine site through the provision and communication of short to medium term mine plans with assistance to operational and contractual matters.
The key accountabilities of this position are,
Assist with preparation of annual operations plans and quarterly forecasts;
prepare capital funding submissions;
manage Civil and Mining engineering projects;
prepare pit designs, dig and dump locations etc for contractor;
Calculate coal inventories and qualities for monthly scheduling.
Specific Skills and experience required,
Relevant mining engineer degree;
experience in mine design in an opencast environment;
expert use of Vulcan mine planning software;
Understanding of all aspects of opencast operations.
