Senior Mine Engineer
Reefton Operations
Oceana Gold Limited, a top 5 ASX listed gold company, owns and operates the Macraes Gold Mine situated in the South Island of New Zealand. Oceana Gold is New ZealandĄ¯s largest gold producer and has established a reputation for operational innovation and environmental responsibility. OceanaGoldĄ¯s exciting new developments of Globe Progress in Reefton and FraserĄ¯s Underground Mine at Macraes will lead the planned increase in gold production.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Engineer to provide engineering input and direction in the development and optimisation of the Globe Progress Mine. Reporting to the Open Pit Mine Manager, the role will be responsible for:
Complete detailed pit designs for staged and ultimate pits to optimise the potential of the Globe Progress Mine.
Complete detailed design of waste dumps, stockpiles and haul roads.
Develop short, medium and long term scheduling of ore and waste removal from pits and waste dump development.
Assist with mine production control and supervise mine engineering functions.
Complete schedules and programs of required infrastructure development to ensure annual mine plans are adhered to supervise projects when required.
Undertake liaison with mining personal and contractors to ensure activities and procedures are undertaken safely and efficiently
The successful incumbent should have at least five years relevant experience, with exposure in an open pit gold mining operations. Experience in the use of computerised mine planning, optimisation and scheduling packages is required. A strong commitment to Health & Safety, sound communication, problem solving skills, organisational and planning skills are essential.
