This organisation is one of the most respected and largest property owners in the world. Due to their continued success and exciting upcoming development program, there currently exists the opportunity for a Project Design Director to join the Design and Construction arm of the business.
This role will provide the unique opportunity to work on multi-million dollar projects and allow you to use your natural creative and artistic flair in conjunction with your commercial knowledge and project management skills. Reporting to the General Manager Design, you will provide and deliver design services for new developments or to enhance and maintain existing building assets.
You will be responsible for managing multiple projects and will provide each of these projects with the timely delivery of design documentation and authority approvals that will enable the construction activities to be completed and the building to be subsequently occupied.
Some key objectives of the role will be to:
Resource and manage the project design team to enable the design documentation and construction activities to be completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
Deliver the contract package and final documentation package against agreed construction program and tender letting schedule.
Obtain the relevant and necessary authority approvals to enable construction activities to commence, protect the company's legislative obligations, minimize costs or otherwise benefit the company¡¯s interests.
Develop working relationships with all involved parties in a collaborative effort to provide approved information in a timely manner for the documentation team.
Develop and administer the design budget in conjunction with the Line Manager in the most efficient manner.
We are looking for a resourceful and innovative professional with proven success in this particular niche of design management. It requires a results oriented individual that does not sacrifice on quality and takes pride in the standard of their work. You will have superior presentation and communication skills that will allow you to relay the concept of the project to various parties and the artistic and creative talent to independently offer alternatives and design solutions.
Likely to be working in a Senior Project Architect or Project Design Manager role at present, the ideal candidate will have a degree in architecture and some previous experience working on retail projects. Experience working for either a contractor, consultant or client organisation involved in property development would also be advantageous.
