Construction Estimator - Senior with further management opportunities
$90,000 to $110,000 starting package
Drive the big construction bids in Wellington
The Senior Estimator role is taking a lead role amongst a team of commercial construction professionals. The objective is to secure an ongoing stream of large scale heavy construction projects at attractive margins. The role will involve bid management and preparation and ensuring communication is prompt and open to maximise opportunities including appropriate use of value engineering concepts. Bid reviews are a part of the position. The role currently reports to the Commercial Manager and interacts with the Regional Manager, Construction Manager, key Client Consultants and Subcontractors. You will be working in well-equipped modern offices amongst a team of motivated and on-to-it people. You are required to have a qualification in Quantity Surveying, a history of Commercial Construction Estimating experience in either New Zealand or Australia of works over $10M. Ideally you will have had at least some experience in one of the big four. Additionally, you will have well developed computer skills, particularly Excel. The organisation is a major nationwide player, commercially focussed and is coming into the Wellington market on the back of a large project. They are seeking to carve an ongoing niche in a range of market sectors and want an experienced and crafty estimator to help establish ongoing work for their operation. It is seen as a career company and the bulk of the team are the real deal. There has been steady growth for the company in both turnover and profit for some years. The role is based in a construction regional-office environment in Wellington - one of New Zealand's larger cities and capital with a long period of sustained growth in construction. Located at the southern end of the North Island, it is handily located to many lifestyle attractions. The package is negotiable but is expected to consist of a starting salary in the range of $90,000 to $110,000, plus cell phone and other benefits by negotiation (including allowances), with regular reviews.
