Policy Analyst


The Department of Building and Housing is currently reviewing the New Zealand Building Code following the introduction of the Building Act 2004. This is the first review of the Building Code since it came into being in 1991. There have been technical updates and amendments, but nothing as far reaching as the review that is currently underway.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Policy Analyst who has strong technical skills coupled with a strong social outcomes focus. This is a complex project involving major research, analysis and report writing. You will be a broad thinker who is consultative in your approach and be a creative team member who contributes in a positive and effective manner.

You will also be:

A highly capable Policy Analyst from the Public Sector

Able to undertake qualitative research projects

Familiar with the building and construction sector in New Zealand

Genuinely interested in the social outcomes of your work

Able to communicate effectively at all levels

A strong team player.

This role will require travel around New Zealand.
