Job Description The Ministry of Justice exists to create a fairer and safer New Zealand. The Collections Unit works with the community to collect and enforce fines (including reparation to victims) and civil debts. The role of the Communications & Marketing Manager is to develop awareness of fines and the consequences of non-payment and stimulate desired behaviour in targeted groups. This position is responsible for identifying opportunities, developing communications strategies and plans, providing advice and coordinating internal and external communication activities which support the objectives of the unit. It is a varied role that encompasses the development and implementation of the communications strategy; responding to media enquiries; developing integrated public awareness campaigns; and implementing communications to internal staff. It will additionally see you maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and liaising closely with the Minister's office. You would manage the communications and marketing budget and oversee a communications assistant. We are seeking to appoint a flexible senior communications adviser that can demonstrate experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies and campaigns to drive the vision forward. You will have the ability to produce compelling and concise written communications. Strong relationship management skills are key and you will be politically savvy with experience managing communications in the public sector. Like to know more?
