Primary Teacher 2007 (Fixed-term) National Education Monitoring Project
Educational Assessment Research Unit
Applications are invited for the one year position of Primary Teacher with the National Education Monitoring Project. The University of Otago is contracted by the Ministry of Education to administer this project which has the goal of obtaining a broad picture of the educational achievements of New Zealand school students at years four and eight.
The Primary Teacher will work in close co-operation with other members of the project team. The work involves assisting with the development, trialling, and administration of assessment tasks in the areas of Visual Arts, Science and Maps, Tables and Graphs.
Applicants should have successful current classroom curriculum knowledge and practice within New Zealand's school sector, preferably at either or both the middle and senior primary levels.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a teacher to extend their professional skills in the area of assessment, and contribute to a major national programme. The appointment will be for the 2007 school year, commencing in January on a date to be agreed with the successful applicant.
