Description |
Preventing Violence in the Home Salary: $45,000 - $52,000
CHILD ADVOCATE Preventing Violence in the Home is a non profit organisation providing a range of family violence services. We are seeking an experienced, independent & well organised person to join this team as a full time Child Advocate.
The Child Advocate will focus on ¡®big picture¡¯ issues impacting on children/young people and their safety. It is expected that strategic objectives will be achieved with the active support of management from each of the FST government and community partners
The team comprises police officers, a CYF social worker and three community advocates based at the Onehunga Police station.
Applicants will need: • knowledge & experience in family violence dynamics • An understanding of the effects of family violence upon children • A passion for children¡¯s issues & excellent knowledge of child & youth development, especially in relation to family violence • Excellent skills & experience in writing, policy & systems analysis • Ability to present info & motivate individuals & groups • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team • Tertiary qualification an advantage • A current clean drivers licence.
