Job Description The role of Finishing Site Supervisor involves the workface supervision of a large section of Internal Fit-out works in a major construction project (over NZ$100M). You will direct and control a number of major subcontractors towards the achievement of a tight deadline. You will make the calls on the job day to day as to how to actually build the thing, with time and quality being your prime focus. The Finishing Site Supervisor interacts closely with the Project Manager and the Senior Site Manager and manages subcontractors. At least three-quarters of your time will be spent walking the floor. A typical working week will be in the 60 to 70 hour plus range and is reflected in the salary. A completed formal trade qualification is a requirement of the position, with at least 10 years of New Zealand commercial construction experience with a contractor and at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. It is also preferred that you have at least one significant big multistorey project under your belt. Ability to read detailed plans and drawings is essential. Basic computer skills, documentation and attention to detail are important aspects of this key position. You should be an excellent communicator and problem solver. We need a committed, fast-paced experienced and focused individual who can be relied on 100%. The role is based on a large new construction project on Auckland's North Shore, handy to the motorway. The salary will reflect the skills and experience of the applicant but should fall in the $85,000 to $115,000 band.
