Department Of Zoology
Applications are invited for the fixed-term (one year), half-time position of Teaching Fellow supporting the Postgraduate Diploma in Natural History Filmmaking and Communication. This will entail organising classes, teachers, overseeing the production of resource materials, and looking after any equipment and facilities. The Teaching Fellow will also be the first point of contact for students on the course with enquiries; including enquiries from students not yet in the programme.
It is expected that the Teaching Fellow will also teach basic editing classes to the filmmaking students and be available for one-on-one tutorials. Preference will be given to a person who could also contribute to teaching aspects of writing and other skills associated with science communication.
The successful candidate would be expected to have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience and qualifications in documentary filmmaking. Experience and demonstrable abilities in areas of science communication generally would also be desirable, including writing/storytelling.
