Description |
College House
Principal - College House College House is New Zealand¡¯s oldest and most traditional university college, and is home to 152 students at the University of Canterbury. The college enjoys an enviable reputation and attracts four applicants for every place available. Students enjoy the benefit of high quality facilities and extensive academic and pastoral support. Music, culture and sport are all strong.
The Principal is the Head of the College, responsible to the Board of Governors for the administration of the College and the welfare of its members.
The person appointed Principal will have a warm, outgoing personality, with a flair for leadership, initiative and team management. He or she will have the ability to work with and understand university students and will have a genuine interest in their welfare.
This is a varied and interesting role that is critical to the good management of the College and for ensuring that the welfare and interests of all students are met. The remuneration to be negotiated will fully reflect these factors and the relevant experience of the successful applicant.
This is a full-time position. A substantial house adjacent to the College is provided for the use of the Principal, who is required to live on site and to preside at formal dinners four nights a week during the university terms. All confidential applications and enquires should be addressed to:
