Category Management (Senior) Team Leadership Building Industry Nationwide market leader Long established and very well regarded this business has a nationwide network of branches across several brands. As the market leader in their sector this business has significant purchasing presence with sales over $500m p.a. and has been growing strongly. Not content with the standard they have set they are continuing to want to push the envelope, ask the hard questions and deliver on the strategy.
This role is about management and change, management of the category, a small team and all of the stakeholder relationships across the business (including international links) and its supplier network. The change is about clever thinking, delivery, ownership and making continuous unrelenting progress towards the stated vision. The role is very high profile and integral to the success of the business by driving sales, delivering profit and growing customer loyalty. This category is almost half the business.
To be successful you will need to be commercially astute, preferably knowledgeable about the building industry and ideally also have some experience in working within a branch network. Your influencing skills are important and should support strong negotiation ability, good analysis skills, and an inquisitive mind that looks for opportunities and solutions rather than problems. Change is never easy in a large business so you will also need tenacity, logic and to be prepared to stand your ground appropriately while maintaining good relationships.
Remuneration is competitive and designed to be attractive to those with business unit management or marketing management experience.
