Waitakere City Council
Parks Contract Officer
Sports and Landscape
This is a senior role in the Parks Assets Team and is fundamental to the management of critical park maintenance contracts. As your primary responsibility would be the management and the auditing of the following operational contracts which have a combined value of up to $5.5 million:
City Landscape Programmed Maintenance Contract
City Sports Programmed Maintenance Contract.
These contracts cover the programmed maintenance of sports parks, streetscape, passive, neighbourhood, natural areas parks, and civic areas. This accounts for over 550 parks although the public visits only approximately 320 of these parks.
You would oversee the management of the computerised irrigation system linking the 21 city sand fields; along with auditing the performance of the associated Contractors and resolving any operational issues related to these contracts and ensuring quality and service levels of these contracts is maintained.
The successful candidates will have some or all of the following:
An appropriate tertiary qualification;
Previous experience in Contract and or project management; business and or park management;
Experience in arboriculture and or substantial turf management;
A current Full New Zealand driving licence.
Although these roles are predominately working in parks this should not prevent people from applying with contract management background and experience in other disciplines.
Proven customer service, communication and written skills are essential as you¡¯ll work closely with contractors, developers, consultants, council peers and the public on the creation, development, renewal and maintenance of our Parks and Streetscape Assets.
