Contemporary policing practice requires the utilisation and analysis of significant amounts of information and data that is being constantly provided from a wide variety of sources.
Counties Manukau Police are looking to appoint a Strategic Analyst with an interest in modern policing practices.
The essence of this position is to carry out research, make strategic assessments, prepare reviews of district practice, conduct environmental scans, and make recommendations to the District Management Team to assist with decision making, business and strategic planning.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, a skilled problem solver, demonstrate excellent time management skills, show a willingness to be flexible and able to work to tight time frames. They will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in group and individual situations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential as the successful applicant will often be required to prepare professional high-level reports, briefing papers and written assessments. Such papers may be used to brief senior members of the Police, Chief Executives and Ministers of the Crown.
Essential tools utilised to achieve these outcomes include packages such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Business Objects.
