Sector Policy Directorate
The Sector Policy Directorate's role is to provide strategic policy advice across all aspects of the health and disability sector with a focus on long-term funding, the health workforce, regulatory frameworks, health system monitoring, health of older people and international issues, and assessing the implications of emerging issues; administration of health professional statutes and secretariat support for ministerial committees and administrative support for regional ethics committees.

Are you interested in the strategic issues facing the health sector? We are seeking analysts with strong analytical and communication skills and a social policy, legal or economic background to join the Sector Policy Directorate. The Directorate identifies and advises on sector-wide health issues of a strategic nature and is looking for analysts to join our teams.
In particular we are looking for people to contribute to our work on the health workforce, therapeutics policy, funding policy, the health of older people, developments in healthcare biotechnology, research and innovation, and social policy to improve health and social outcomes.
We have one fixed term (9-12 months) position available, and a number of permanent roles. All are full-time and located in Wellington. The Ministry is a flexible employer; secondments and job sharing or other arrangements will be actively considered.
