A great opportunity for entry level manufacturing is being established at Canterbury Spinners with a view to advancing into technical and management careers. We are seeking a cadet to train and develop in the textile industry.
A mechanical cadet will be given the opportunity to learn the operation and machinery functions in a woollen spinning plant, and will be involved in the maintenance, dismantling and reassembly of the machinery. This person will have a basic knowledge or an interest in transmissions, gear boxes, drives, pneumatics and hydraulics.
Applicants should have a minimum of three years secondary school, passes in NCEA in subjects with a technical bias. Assistance will be provided for successful candidates to attend part-time courses at Polytech with the view to attaining qualifications such as a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Trade Skills or National Certificate in Maintenance and Diagnostics.
