Description |
Forming part of the Downer EDI Group, Works Infrastructure is a major provider of services to the mining, energy, construction, roading, surfacing, rail and infrastructure sectors throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Our Taranaki branch with operations in New Plymouth and Hawera is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Contract Manager/Engineer for a New Plymouth based position. New Plymouth is a very attractive location with extensive recreational and lifestyle pursuits available in an area with an excellent climate.
The Contracts Manager/Engineer is primarily involved in the management of roading and general civil construction contracts. Ideally you will have several years experience in the roading industry but the right attitude and a willingness to learn is more essential as on the job training can be provided, and the role adapted for the successful applicant.
The position requires a person who is keen to work as part of a team in a competitive environment, has good personal skills and has the ability to enhance client relationships. We would like to hear from candidates with the following attributes, skills and experience:
An ability to work in a team
High levels of motivation
Safe work practices
Previous experience within the roading/surfacing industry
A formal qualification in Civil Engineering is preferred but not essential
Computer literacy
Good forward planning and programming skills
Proven experience at job cost control and working within budgets
Ability to make things happen
